I installed pads and spring clips on my 2011 Kia Sorento EX V6 AWD. As I pulled away, I heard a grinding noise from both front wheels. I took the car apart again and after some understanding that the problem was with the shoe clips that came with it. At first glance they looked just like the old ones. However, when I put the old clips on top of the new ones, I saw a difference (see image). At the bottom of the "U" the new clamps were about 1/8 inch wider and this extra piece of metal rubbed on the edges of the brake rotors. I tried bending the new clamps and playing around with them a bit but couldn't get them to work. There's only one way to continue them, so I finally gave up and used the old clips. Luckily changing the brake pads is easy, but I still give two stars for the inconvenience of having to take the car apart twice.
