Why would you ever want to install recessed lighting again?

I have been using LED panel lights for a few years. The first generation lights required some thought as they didn't offer junction boxes and you had to add one to match the code. The new generation that Ostwin offers is fantastic. The included junction box simplifies installation. The included push pin connectors are an added bonus. No more repairing drywall router cuts looking for a pre-installed can lamp. Simply place your 14/2 wire in the compartment where you want the light to be placed, cover it with drywall, go back to the drywall and drill an appropriately sized hole where you want the light to grab After the wire, make the connection, throw the junction box into the ceiling, snap the light into place. Another nice feature is that these lights are so thin you can even install them where the beam partially obscures the hole! Also, you don't have to cut through the insulating/vapour wrap like you would with a canning lamp. So you are actually more energy efficient when it comes to heating and cooling as well as electricity. The lighting can be adjusted with LED compatible dimmers, however you should be aware of the following brightness levels for you or your client: 3000K (soft white) = a bright incandescent light 4000K (bright white) = surgical/dental white light 5000K (daylight) light ) = automatic HID light I highly recommend these lights. Big stores are starting to have limited sizes, but if you're smart you can get them here for a third to half the price! Why would you use a Canning lamp again?

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
