I bought these soap nuts because I live near a river and don't want chemicals in our drinking water. I don't use fabric softener and these soap nuts make my clothes super soft and my towels super fluffy! They arrived on time and the packaging was great. In the big bag of nuts there is a small bag and a whole bunch of nuts. Place 4 or 5 soap nuts in a small bag and tie tight. If you don't tie it, the nuts will run away and you'll have to get them out of the wash. It's not a big deal and it's easy to avoid by following simple instructions. ;D Wash and dry your clothes as usual. All is well! Clothes smell fresh and clean. I don't know much about smells, so when I say fresh and clean I don't mean the smell of cleaning supplies. You smell of nothing, cotton, clothes and towels. It's great in my book. I will continue to buy them. To be honest there are so many of these nuts in one big bag that I have no idea when they'll run out because each group of nuts lasted about 4 loads. That's a lot for a giant bag. Happy washing!
