Please note they fit in a compact dispenser and honestly it's not the towels fault that the dispenser doesn't hold many towels. Pulling out a core to use it is a bit odd, but easy enough once you get the hang of it. When used in the correct dispenser, this reel releases easily when pulled and has just enough support so it doesn't snap in the middle when you're not in gear. Holds up great as kitchen/tea towels, but the compact rolls are so small we use them up pretty quickly. I think that's why you can buy reusable towels.
