Review on πŸ‹οΈ Ultranger Commercial Snatch Block - Reliable and Heavy-Duty Ranger (2 Tons/4,500 LBs) by James Edwards

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Solid value; can really be improved with some rework

These wrench blocks are solidly built but lack fit and finish. I use them for a makeshift rope machine for my small home gym. When I first installed them I noticed some rotational knocks so I took them apart and found a weld or extrusion in the steel sleeve between the pulley and the pin. This seam was fairly easy to remove with a dremel and/or needle file. I then used a fine sandpaper to buff the bushing and smooth the outside surfaces of the pulley (they ruined the paint). Finally, I put some thick, good quality multipurpose grease on both sides of the hub as it spins under load. Personally, I wouldn't use them above 500 pounds; but that's really just personal judgment and nothing for which I have quantitative evidence. In general, they can be very useful for medium-power applications with around 15 minutes of work (each).
