I bought these for my patio. I didn't have an outlet and wanted something solar powered. I have to say that they work well, I'm very satisfied. Their light doesn't last too long and they're not too bright, but they're easy to see and they do the job. I would say as soon as it gets dark around 5 they turn on and by 9pm they start dimming which is normal on a sunny day they stay on longer. Purchased gold Very cheap. I folded them in half to hang on my railing and then rotated them around the railing and they hold up very well, even in the strong winds of New York, I'm happy with them. They get tangled easily when you try to hang them, but just take your time. I did it and you can too.
