I'm so glad I got these lights for our new 7.5ft Christmas tree, they look amazing. I tied the threads at the top and let the threads wrap around the tree. The wire is soft so you can easily route it however you like. I want the wire to be green, but I understand the main purpose of these lights is to be a curtain, not around a Christmas tree. Another benefit is that it can be connected to USB (I used a wall converter at the time as I had a spare from my phone) so there's no problem wasting batteries. The remote control is another plus and the different lighting schemes keep the kids entertained. The lighting is LED, so you don't have to worry about overheating and burning wood.
