Review on Coastacloud iPad Pro 12.9 2018 Keyboard Case: Detachable Keyboard, 7 Colors Backlit, Wireless Bluetooth, with Protective Covers & Cases for Tablet by Sharon Griffin

Overall good quality but no room for a floating keyboard.

Pros: Well built and good looking. My 12.9" iPad Pro fits perfectly and my Apple Pencil holds up well as advertised. Also, the keyboard feels decent, if slightly spongy. (In my opinion, the key feel is a slight improvement over the Apple device, which I did feel like going too far the other way.) The backlight is well done, which is why I decided to give this unit a try.Now for the CONS: First, and no doubt some will consider this very minor, there are a few odd button layouts: The right Command and Option keys are sacrificed for backlight functionality; and the backspace key doesn't work as a back-delete key (when used with the Fn key, like my Apple keyboard does), instead they give you one SEPARATE delete key, which works like an inverse function key, but only if you hold down the Fn key; if you don't hold down the Fn key, sch Instead, turn off your iPad. Secondly, and if I'd thought of looking for it I wouldn't have noticed the mention in the product description, there's no smart connector, meaning you have to charge and use the Android-style connector, you have to manually connect via Bluetooth. That being said, the main issue I had with this device is that there is no way to fold the included fully self-contained keyboard into a case without risking serious scratches on the iPad's screen. End of the story. If you want to use this device, you'll either have to keep it (close it) without a keyboard (which will make the case a little weird because it has to have something inside) or plan to get something really serious. Screen protector for your iPad. Because of this, this keyboard case is almost useless to me.
