I bought this to replace my composite to HDMI converter. I tried connecting an HDMI cable directly to this adapter but got no picture or sound. Plugged it back into the old one and change the resolution to 480i, then plugged it back into that adapter and it worked. No instructions were included or made available online, so it was left to other people's reviews. Someone said it should go straight to TV. So I stream it from my receiver to my TV and it works like a charm. The picture is better and there are no black bars like my old converter. Also, it doesn't require a separate power supply, which is great. No instructions, hence only 4 stars. At least they could put them on the website and it wouldn't cost them that much and help future customers.
