Review on ๐Ÿšฒ BELL Z20 MIPS Road Bike Helmet for Adults by Donnie King

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Compared to Kask and GiroSport for a young child

I chose this helmet for my child after contacting Bell, Kask and GiroSport to inquire about the design. I needed a helmet with dedicated rear room because if you just slide the helmet to squeeze the rear, the helmet is not protecting your head in the key areas it was designed for. It would be too high or too low. On the subject of MIPS: Kask have their own version of MIPS and their helmets are certified to national regulatory standards, but they didn't answer my question about the ponytail fiction. Ridegearguru recommended one of their ponytail helmets, but it was twice the price of this Bell model. GiroSport sells a helmet with a MIPS ponytail, but it was no bigger than a kid (The Scamp). This Bell model has MIPS, great ventilation, and a great price, but I couldn't figure out how the ponytails fit. Bell wrote that they have "several adult ponytail styles sold at CITI, Curve, and Glow stores." Thus, the Z20 was not reported as equipment. However, Ridegearguru pointed out that this z20 Joy Ride offers plenty of room for ponytails without sacrificing safety.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Incredible price
