I loved my VX Nano. Nothing could beat the VX Nano, not even the MX Anywhere 2S. But it's close. Ah, so close. The form factor is the same. Very small in the hand, fits comfortably on the wrist. The switchable hyper-scroll wheel is still there, and the app switcher button is still programmable to hotkeys (as are my favorite features in the VX Nano: assignable hotkeys per button, PRO app). My gripe, and which is less than the king of the hill VX Nano, is that the forward/back buttons are now closer to the hand, to the thumb. VX held them up so they could be activated with his index finger. It annoys me, but it's subjective. The second issue is the rechargeable built-in battery. The VX Nano used 2 AAA batteries which I have only used with Eneloops or Revain Basic rechargeable batteries. I keep the pack on the side and change it out every few months when needed, and I've been doing this for years. With an internal battery, as this thing degrades and dies, there's no chance for me to swap out and extend its lifespan. Unfortunately, the battery will undoubtedly die before the mouse. And the third is connectivity. Although it comes with a dongle (which I ended up using is no different than the VX Nano), the mouse proudly claims to have Bluetooth. Well, Bluetooth refused to work with my 2018 Macbook Pro running version 10.13.6. A quick search revealed that many running Macs have problems with Bluetooth and MX Anywhere 2S. So while I use it the same way I use my 10-year-old mouse via a USB dongle, I'm annoyed that I can't use the updated Bluetooth feature with this next-gen mouse. VX Nano, here it is: It's your replacement, but it's not perfect.
