Review on Micro Connectors 500Ft Solid Shielded (Stp) Cat6 Bulk Ethernet Cable - Gray (TR4-560SHGR-500) by Alex Tilden

I bought this coil because I needed to run several CAT6 coils outside along the wall of my house to connect multiple rooms together. I wanted something with shielding and UV protection as the cable will be in direct sunlight for part of the day. The cable itself is very strong, very stiff. I really believe that it will last for years without any problems. As one of the other reviewers said, I REALLY wish I would a) test the cable speed before installing it and b) really read these reviews with speed in mind. After the installation I only got 100 Mbit/s with CAT6. With my gigabit internet connection, that was totally unacceptable. ADDITIONALLY, the cable actually couldn't transfer much faster than 75 Mbit/s. Absolutely terrible. I've debugged every single component in the chain from my router to the PC, including shorter CAT6 patch cords, wall outlets, and this cable. Because? THIS CABLE! I ran a test using an unshielded internal CAT5e cable and suddenly my PC's connection speed went up to 1000Mbps and the transfer rate reflected that. I will continue to use this internal CAT5e cable temporarily until a new coil becomes available. i will return it
