Overall I am satisfied with the purchase, the first batch was not long in coming. I have a few small comments that might make this book more appropriate for those of us who are just getting into the hobby. Overall I'm happy with the number of custom recipes in the booklet and I have enough stock to make a large number of batches and have pretty much all the additives needed for most styles of wine in reasonable amounts. Since I'm impatient, I'll probably order a few more bottles to start more batches. I would suggest looking at both the description on Amazon and the instructions that came with the kit and mentioning that you strongly recommend buying it. Most new lovers will find this out before making a purchase, but someone buying this as a gift may not know! much of it settled to the bottom of the bottle - that's when I realized the kit doesn't come with a long-handled spoon/spatula for mixing. I know Ohio's Homebrew has these items (I ordered one as soon as I realized I was in trouble!), but it might be a good idea to include a 24" agitator, even if it increases the price a bit . I did a lot of research beforehand but this was something I didn't understand before. 3- The recipe book/instructions aren't that great - it's really just the recipes themselves, not a step. walkthrough (although it might be a good idea to write a general walkthrough to help beginners). It really didn't bother me as I quickly found that there were more than enough resources. on the internet to get this information. Even listing a web link somewhere in the material pointing to multiple web resources helps - since not every newbie will research things in advance it would at least help point them in the right direction. simple improvement. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase, but I would recommend beginners to make sure when purchasing this set to also purchase a hydrometer set which comes with a test vessel and a long stirrer. As I mentioned, all you really need to expand the use of your kit is more bottles (and vape caps, but you can easily find them together).
