Good pen for large batches of pancakes

This is a pretty good pancake pen but definitely not perfect. I mainly use mine for homemade pancakes, which are a bit thick. Pros: It can take a beating. I don't have to charge it as often as I did with my old pen. It is very stable when loaded if you use the rear end as a base for the handle. The lid holds the pancake batter very well. Wide enough to be easily cleaned by hand. It is easy to compress. There are no little rubber rings to loosen or grab the dough. Cons: The mixing ball just doesn't work for my pancake recipe. I went back to mixing in a bowl and then poured in the batter. There are slots on both ends, which are difficult to clean. .The hole is a little big - the dough comes out pretty quickly compared to other handles. I never thought I would be a pancake pen lover, but many years ago I bought one on a whim and ended up using it almost every week. My kids LOVE pancakes. When the plastic ripped on it, I had to look for a new grip. So many pancakes just won't fit in the pan when you pour them straight out of the bowl! This pen definitely has some advantages over my old one, especially in terms of cleaning and large capacity. I have tried several times to mix the batter with a ball but never managed to mix it well. Maybe I'm using a recipe that's too thick (I make pancakes with whole wheat flour and flaxseed flour). If you're using a store-bought mix, it might work just fine. The tip is definitely larger than other pens I've used, so it doesn't offer the same level of control that you'll find with other pancake pens. I haven't tried this with any of my pancake pans and I suspect it would be a bit more difficult to use with thinner pancake pans. However, it works great with regular pancakes and a waffle iron. The body of the pen seems to last quite a long time. If you want to make pancake art, go elsewhere. But if you want a pen that will speed up your breakfast by getting as many pancakes on the pan as possible (without too many drips on the counter), this pen will serve you well.
