I've been trying a lot of digital indoor antennas lately. In particular, I wanted to watch a local channel with a very weak signal (Looking at YOU, Court TV, or at least I'm sorry I can't see you). Most of the local towers are located on a single hill in Rochester, the highest point in the city. I'm maybe 5-10 miles away which should be fine but there is an airport between my house and the hill. Sooooo my TV signals are questionable. I say this before I even start my review because watching digital channels requires careful placement of each antenna. It's not like the old days of bunny ears where you could just press the dial and move the roof antenna until the picture was as clear as possible. Digital television is either/or. You can look at it (with a perfect picture) or it just doesn't exist. Relocating the antenna can certainly help, but without constantly rescanning you won't know where to place it. For the record, I finally gave in and installed an outside antenna so I could watch the channel I wanted, but I still use indoor antennas on other TVs in different rooms. I tested these antennas: https://www. amazon.com/gp/product/B085PRDK76 (Anjuren flat indoor antenna) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07WTNRFY6 (Philips curved gray cloth antenna) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product /B085S4GXF3 (Indoor/Outdoor Antan) I also tried Clearstream Eclipse and Clearstream 1MAX. In all cases, I hung the antenna high up on the same wall, which is where I've found the signals to be best. In addition, some of these antennas come with amplifiers that need to be connected. or without an amplifier. My ratings are from worst to best. Of all these, Phillips was the worst. 4 channels found (my outdoor antenna finds 32). Moving him didn't help, and in fact he didn't find any channels anywhere else in the room. If you don't have a really clear signal and can't hang this antenna on a window with a view of the signal, I don't recommend it. It's completely unobtrusive, and if you didn't know it was an antenna you wouldn't believe it... but it doesn't work well, so looks don't really matter. Next are two flat antennas (Andzyuren and Eclipse). Again, I think you need a relatively strong signal to use them, but they're easy to position and both come with adhesive pads so you can place them in a window. They are really good and I have 16 channels with each of them. Not bad, but still not perfect. The next Antan indoor and outdoor antenna. This baby is BIG. It has two "bunny ears" that are retractable and can be repositioned for better FM reception. It came with an amplifier (in my case it didn't matter). Also included is enough hardware for mounting in the attic or outdoors on a pole. It felt a little big and heavy to hang on the wall, but I managed to hold it up long enough to do a test. 22 channels were there. My best rating is Clearstream 1MAX. Yes, it hangs on the wall, but it's relatively light, so I'm not worried about it falling off. 26 channels come with it. I want to emphasize here that indoor antenna ratings are always "your mileage may vary". Depending on distance to towers, hilly terrain, airports (heh) and a host of other factors, an antenna that works for me may not work for you and vice versa. It's best to always use an outside antenna, but if you absolutely have to avoid it I highly recommend trying a few and making sure you can return the ones that don't work for you.
