I originally bought this night light because I needed a lampshade for an old nightlight and I wanted to remove the lampshade from this one and use it. And he will work for that. The lampshade is suitable for an old-style night lamp. But now that I see the LED, I really like it. It's darker so the room isn't too bright. If you want something lighter this will not work. If you are looking for something dimmer to wake up at night or for a child's room this is perfect. And because of the tint, the LED bulb isn't as "sterile white" as most.
