Review on πŸ”’ DSC BV500GB PIR Motion Detector & Glassbreak Sensor: Superior Security Solutions by Joshua Castillo

Instructions do not match the device, broken glass does not work, no customer support

First of all, please note that I am an electronics technician by trade and am now retiring after 42 years of service; so i regularly read wiring diagrams, wiring diagrams, designed circuits and installed devices. Here are the problems I encountered while working with the DSC Bravo 5GB (BV500GB): (See the attached photos) (1) The board and the instructions do not match, in fact the 12V supply connections and the Relay contact connections actually swapped the instructions! I was able to get the motion detector to produce a useful output by wiring it according to the template on the board. (2) I was able to verify that the glass break detector was working using the test jumper circuit described in the instructions and the LED indicator. as an indicator (uses a 400 Hz tone through the amplifier and speaker). BUT - I've never been able to get the glass fragment to provide any useful output from the terminals (lots of trial and error). (3) The final blow is the complete lack of customer support. Apparently, only those security companies that are properly registered with the DSC can request technical support from the DSC. So I'm returning the device and looking for solutions from other companies.
