There were several ugly stains on the carpet in my apartment, which also appeared after professional carpet cleaning. This carpet cleaner worked well although it took several cleanings to really clean the carpet. (It was so dirty that I didn't expect it to be completely clean after one use.) Not only did the carpet look a lot better, but the carpet itself was a lot softer and softer. The only issue that lowered my rating is the quality of the brush. Although I tightened the handle exactly according to the instructions, the handle kept breaking. Now on the third use the handle doesn't stay extended at all so I have to bend down and use half the handle.
