Review on Benzara BENZD 38318 Rattan Table by April Mitchell

This is an attractive table with a unique design that I liked more than the usual boring design found on most coffee tables. I thought it would add more character to the Indonesian, Chinese, and African furniture and artwork in my study, and it certainly does. From an aesthetic point of view, this is the perfect complement to the medium I aim to inspire creativity. There are several reasons for a three star rating that may or may not bother you. One consideration is that the height of the table isn't actually 29 inches, but 27 1/2 inches. A small consideration, but for functional reasons I needed it to fit the height of the adjacent desktop, which is actually the standard 29-inch height. The product info panel on the website is also very confusing, with conflicting dimensions and weights. Weight is listed as both 19.9 and 35 pounds, and dimensions are listed as 29 x 15 x 12 and 15 x 15 x 15 inches. Looking at the design, I have questions about how to split a 29" table into a 15" table. for transport (if that was the reason for the second size). Was it really made of parts that somehow had to be put together? Please be assured that the table comes fully assembled and the 15" dimensions given are incorrect. Also note that it is difficult to estimate the capacity of baskets from a picture. The inner dimensions of the baskets are 8x8cm. I thought maybe I'd put some big books in the baskets. think again Another consideration for a rating of less than five stars is the quality of the wood used for the top. It seems that with all the effort that goes into making these tables, a certain level of wood quality is chosen for the top. The wood appears to be fairly cheap - with a few cracks and voids that have been washed out with some sort of putty. But if you don't check it for the quality of the wood, the overall look of the table is impressive. The build quality is solid rather than shaky, and I have no problem placing an expensive studio monitor on it. All in all, I highly recommend this table if you like the look and function of it. My only disappointment was that the measurements given were not entirely accurate.
