I love the waist band on this, or I should say, the lack thereof! Its not your typical waist band. It is smooth and doesn't cut into me. Most shapewear has too tight of a waist band for me even though I have a very small waist. It says high waisted, but that depends on what you think is high waisted. It does not go up to under the bra line, but it does go up above the navel. I have a high waist and it goes above my waist. I chose white to wear under white and light colored slacks and it works very well for this. I am slim, but have saggy skin and bulges from childbirth (and probably age too! :) ). These work well to smooth me out through the hips, thighs, and tummy. Others have commented this is too tight, but if anything, they could be a little tighter for me. I am very happy with the fit though!
