Review on πŸ”ͺ Efficient HSM Shredstar S25 Strip-Cut Shredder: Shreds 25 Sheets, 6.9-Gallon Capacity, Sleek White Design by Aaron Schultz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Both my parents and I have one.

My parents first bought one to replace an old $80-$100 grinder that overheated when they hit something substantial. You are very happy with it. This chopper replaced an old Royal that was about 8 years old. So I'm very happy to have a shredder that won't snag on a sheet of paper as it's 50% shredder. What struck me about this grinder: Advantages: - It is very quiet. Haven't tried shredding CDs or credit cards yet, but it still chews paper at a much lower noise level than my old shredder. It doesn't seem to have any noticeable difficulty shredding around 17 pages. The motor seems to stay pretty stable as it reduces noise and speed. It was securely packed. The main product box was tightly packed at the top and bottom at the foam ends. And that was sealed with a Revain brand brown box that had no extra padding but also left no room for the movement of the inner box. Cons: It's very heavy. Every home/small office shredder I've seen is very heavy, so no points for that. It's a little picky about the paper feed angle. It's also possible that my old chopper was set up at a different angle and I still have to get used to it. Without point deduction. I want to own this thing for 8-10 years, hopefully the performance it has now will remain fairly consistent with regular lubrication and following the directions. I will definitely change my rating if something comes up in the next year or two, that's a lot of money for something that should last 5+ years.
