Good Ole Cablematters - Runs Like Clockwork

Worked flawlessly with my MacOS and Windows systems. Pictured is a 2019 Macbook Pro in and out of clamshell mode with an Alienware AW2521HF + Samsung SJ55W and charging with the included Thunderbolt cable. Both monitors also work with my old ASUS ROG Zephyrus GX501 Windows laptop via the Thunderbolt port. Alienware can run at 240hz from the nVidia control panel - not sure if gsync works with the port, but can update the review if I ever try. There is a laptop limitation (no docking station) that prevents it from appearing on both monitors with DisplayPort on my Windows machine. For the record, this is the third dock I've tried and I was so happy that it worked with both my Mac and Windows machines. Others I've tried (HP 120w G2, VisionVT4800) had display issues on one or both of my systems.

Pros
  • USB-C Hub with One USB-A Port and Two USB-C Ports with USB 3.1 Gen 2 10Gb/s Speed and 7.5W Charging Power; Connect a flash drive or external hard drive to transfer files at speeds up to 10Gbps; Two additional USB 3.0 ports are ideal for a USB keyboard and mouse; Other connectivity options include a Gigabit Ethernet port for connecting to a wired network and a 3.5mm TRRS audio jack for headphones or a headset and microphone.
Cons
  • The list is getting long.
