Pros: Works mostly as expected, easier to use, more options. A very strong magnet keeps it upright with ease. Cons, most of them are minor nitpicks. The light bulb is weak. If you're just buying for light, you'll likely be disappointed. The bulb switch is not very good, a cheap contact switch. There is no positive feeling of contact. The switch is difficult to toggle on and off, you really have to press it. To change the lamp batteries (2 x AAA) you have to loosen 2 screws and remove the device completely. There's a battery cover that you can put back on so it doesn't stick to other items. Can easily get lost. Wants me to do it again: A battery cover that can be flipped up or otherwise mounted. The wire stand only has one position, wish it was in a different position or lay a little flatter.
