My own socket has failed. I have a 2018 Nissan Sentra and of course it's going to cost a few hundred dollars because they want to replace every single component that goes with the 12v cigarette lighter or adapter. This is not necessary. I pulled out an old outlet and she just cut the wires and then plugged them into the ends of this one and great. Now the molding is on the original that I had to cut out a bit and it's basically just a file and it should put the ring in these latches but that's the only dummy modification you need to do what actually there is very little even in an X-Acto knife to cut off a piece of cat for that trim ring.
