Review on πŸ¦‹ Exquisite UGEARS Fluttering Butterfly Wood Puzzle: A Delightful Mechanical Masterpiece by Tommy Willis

It'll never take off, Orville!

Well after assembling it didn't work as described. Probably my fault to some extent. Maybe I put it in reverse or something. I thought I saw the problem right in the middle of the gears. I tried to fix it but couldn't take it apart (that wouldn't have been possible at the time without breaking something, which I ended up doing anyway). It would be nice if they just included that size in the kit instead of trying to tie a knot in the correct size elastic. All instructions are pictures, but some of them are difficult to understand what to do. And if you don't have good eyesight, make sure you have a magnifying glass to see the detail in the pictures and the reference marks on the pieces of wood. It's amazing what they can do with CNC and I appreciate the extra detail they include (even wax and a small piece of sandpaper were included). This is a really cool idea and I appreciate the engineering that went into it. But I probably wouldn't buy any more. Some of my fault again. Even though I've been a mechanic for over 30 years and a carpenter all my life, I kinda know what I'm doing and how to make things work. it should do. For example, if you add "power" (big rubber bands that are supposed to move the wings) - what it's supposed to do, etc. If you check that before you put it in the center of the device, you might have a chance to make it to fix. Anyway, that's my two cents. I enjoyed collecting it even though it ended up in the bin.
