For the price I paid for this product compared to what I got at Best Buy, for me it's a lot better than what I would get at the store. Although this was to replace the USB cable for my Seagate 1TB external hard drive. I'm a little tired of keeping the cable plugged into my computer all the time, but it's only been a few weeks. I tend to use my external hard drive very sparingly and only when I need it. So I don't connect all the time so I think this cable should work. While it doesn't feel as fast as what I got with Seagate and maybe not as stable as I'd like for a 1TB external hard drive, I'll live with it for now. I will also question its durability, not sure if it will break any time soon; I hope not but we'll see. It didn't really fit into the USB port on my Wacom Intuos 4 tablet (which it was originally bought for), which seems to have worn out from plugging and unplugging it too many times. And that cable seemed pretty strong at the time, I didn't think it was going to snap at the ends. I'm a little sad that the surrounding piece is a little bigger than the slot. But I had a bulky problem, even with the 3-foot USB cable, which was $17 at Best Buy. The length of this cable is good clearance for things to keep close to a computer/laptop.
