Review on Matek Gaiter Face Cover Lightweight by Mitchell Watson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good but not great

In general, these leggings are not bad. It fits great (adjustable at the back) and has a foldable nose piece that helps secure it around the nose and eyes. I run and walk outside in the cold and it keeps my face warm and the cold hardly bothers me. Using it indoors as a face mask also works great. Unlike a normal face mask, it leaves no air gaps on the sides of the face and adheres firmly to the skin. The filter is right in front of your mouth. My issue with this gaiter is that the filter loads from the side and is difficult to fully insert. Raising and lowering the cuff several times causes the filter to move frequently. It could stand on a small piece of velcro to keep the filter bag closed. Although the description says "wicking" I don't think that's true. When you move in it (walking, running, etc.), breathing causes the fabric to get quite damp after a while and it's a bit uncomfortable. There is no moisture absorption. I will continue to use it but may end up buying another brand to try and get actual moisture wicking fabric gaiters.
