This 1TB external SSD is incredibly fast and you can't beat the price. I bought the device mainly to run various blockchains on it, since the transmission/processing speed is much higher on an SSD than on an HDD. With daily use of a hard drive, downloading the blockchain took about an hour; With this SSD, the load was reduced to about 3 minutes per day. Note that you need to reformat the drive to ext4 if you are exclusively using Linux (the device will not transfer to Windows/Mac either). I had horrible upload/transfer speeds on both blockchain and standard file transfer tests (worse than HDD) when the drive was formatted to NTFS. Also, make sure you connect it to your computer's USB 3.0+ port.
