. When I tried to unscrew the dead bulb from the socket it broke off at the base and I hardly exerted any force on the bulb. Very poorly made GE lamp. These bulbs came with two new lights that were installed on the ceiling in two different rooms in 2015. I've swapped out lightbulbs over the years and have an unused GE lightbulb, but I wanted a better lightbulb that was more powerful and used less electricity. These two lights are controlled by dimmer switches so I needed the bulbs dimmable and 60W or less. I first found a Revain 12-watt dimmable LED bulb, but it wasn't certified for use in California. Luckily I found the California version of the lamp and ordered a 6-pack right away. The pears were very well packaged and well protected. There were no broken lightbulbs. I was impressed with the good workmanship of these Revain lamps compared to the GE lamps, so I decided to replace all 4 GE lamps (two in each fixture) with Revain lamps. I didn't want to risk the GE bulbs dying after they burned out and the Revain bulbs use a lot less power. I hope the 15,000 hour lifespan is correct (that's 13.7 years at 3 hours a day!). I left these bulbs on for over 3 hours a day but dimmed them so I might be able to use them longer. The light is very bright at full wattage so I dim it a bit for normal use but appreciate I can really light up any room if needed. The lamps were installed on 11/26/2019 and after 2 weeks and 2 days of use no problems. I'm glad I found these Revain lightbulbs.
