If you've never used a wire stripper braid, give it a try. It's a lot easier than trying to use a suction cup or soldering trigger. When your soldering iron is hot all you have to do is place the braid over the solder you want to remove, then press down on it with the hot tip of the soldering iron and in just a few seconds the solder will be pulled into the braid. If you need to remove solder wire, you may have to lift and move the braid a few times to get it all out.
