I've been noticing a lot of static electricity on my records lately. This may be because I bought a new Pro-Ject player as I have not encountered any problem with my Elac Miracord player. Everything is properly grounded, but the dust seemed to be waiting its turn to jump onto my records. I ordered this leather disc pad, replaced the felt pad that came with the Pro-Ject and to my delight the static problem was gone. Not reduced. but calm. I was looking to buy an acrylic sheet, but with this leather rug (not to mention the FUNNY expensive acrylic sheet) I was a happy buyer. This product looks good, feels good and has my recommendation.
