I put this in my aquarium sump as a failsafe to keep my tank from overflowing when my overflow might be clogged. is out of the water and thinks the bottom sensor is useless. So as soon as my high water sensor runs out of water the pump turns off, as soon as the high water sensor is back under water my pump turns on again. I still give it 4 stars as it does what I want but couldn't. Giving 5 stars because it doesn't work as advertised. UPDATE I understand why you need a low and a high sensor as my pump shuts off when only one sensor is out of the water. When this happens the water in the line flows back into the tank causing the pump to turn on again and then off again as the line fills up leaving the pump on all the time which isn't doing the pump any good at all.
