This protects the iPad.
For the most part, this case is great. My son is rude with his stuff. I had to make sure his iPad was protected, and it is. In this case, he threw away his iPad and it remained in perfect working order. He stepped on him and he's still fine. The only negative aspect and the reason I give it 4 stars is that the little hind legs pop up all the time. After a few days of use (before he handled it roughly) one leg popped out and I can't hold it anymore. It still stands at 1 foot but can easily be knocked over. Otherwise, you really can't go wrong with the price. I didn't want to spend a fortune on the case.
