Not tight enough to walk
I've used it twice and both times the strap holding the strap loosened causing me to have to grip the water bottle tighter. I expected the straps on the back of my hand to do most of the work of holding a water bottle. However, wearing bulky gloves was fine as my hands were closer to those of a very tall man (I have normal or large woman's hands) and the loose shoulder strap wasn't a problem.
