The build quality is absolute rubbish

So I bought these particular bulbs because I heard most LED replacement bulbs were pretty bad but that Beamtech made a quality bulb. Ouch. My. God. Was it ever untrue These lamps are complete rubbish and I have no idea how they even got out of the design phase. H1 bulbs have a retaining collar (shaped like a circle with a flat spot and two protruding indentations) to hold the bulb in place and keep it in the correct orientation after installation. In a halogen lamp, this collar is actually a piece of metal that is fully integrated into the lamp body and serves as one of the electrical contacts. On these Beamtech lights, this collar is simply a piece of plastic loosely attached around the base. lightbulb. It shakes and is barely connected to the rest of the device. It doesn't even come close to holding the bulb in place, even when the car is stationary, and I can't even imagine what would happen if you hit a pothole. Oh, that's why two wires go to these lightbulbs too. Not just one on the outside as it should be - instead of a metal retaining ring that doubles as an electrical contact, they have a plastic holder that doesn't. And as a bonus, the polarity of the cables is reversed (as their color codes suggest) compared to the cables in the car, and the spade lugs are the wrong size, requiring you to buy a dumb adapter, which inevitably is also poorly designed. and crumble in your hands as you try to install it. And, to add icing to this junk cake, they don't fit inside a car headlight dust cover, so you end up with all sorts of road grime in the headlight housings. if you have traveled with them. The manual is written in the most broken English I've seen in decades. I honestly can't remember ever buying a lower quality product. They shouldn't be on the market, period.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • I don't like anything about it, it's ok
