The bulb is 1.77 " deep from the base plate to the back of the fan

The advertisement says the rear fan is 0.9" deep but it doesn't show the bulb further is at the front of the post. The distance from the base of the lamp mounting plate to the back of the fan is 1.77 inches or 45 mm. This is particularly deep and prevented the rear housing cover from being reinstalled on my 1996 E36. The lamps are bright and otherwise well installed.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Very bright. Kind of awkward to install.

Fairly complicated installation. There are some plastic clips that allow them to fit different headlights and not get stuck. I had to hold them with a zipper. In addition, the cooling compartment is so large that it does not allow to mount headlight covers at the rear. Can possibly lead to water ingress. The electrical connections are metal spatulas, which leave a lot to be desired. However, they are very bright. Let's see how long they last

  • Sturdy construction

Beamtech was/is the light before the thunder!

Installed on day of purchase. No harnesses or adapters required. They worked great out of the box and continue to work. I tried "Thunder" from another company before ordering this one. Only one worked out of the box, needed adapters (sold separately) for the H1, and the one that worked didn't look any brighter or better than these, despite their claims. I am very satisfied with them and plan to order bright and different cars again.

  • Great for me

LAMP H1 IS NOT USED!

I am concerned about the installation. I couldn't even fit the LED part into the case where it fits. I don't want to file off the metal on the sides of the LED so it can slide in. This seems like an easy fix, but I don't want to compromise the integrity of the product. I know I need H1 (original bulb reference picture). However, the newly installed LED does not go in. It doesn't matter if I remove the cooler or not. In addition, you can not put a dust cover on the radiator. It will stick out…

Pretty bright and seems durable.

Installs in approximately 3 months. They are much brighter than the stock halogens in my Subaru. The downside is that Subaru has a cover that covers the back to protect the bulbs and connectors, but with a radiator it no longer fits and the wires go through the grommet hole. The cover cannot be removed completely. So it just hangs open. Just like the male side of the 2 spade connectors on the headlights, they were actually too wide and I had to narrow them down to fit the connector on the car…

Purchased H1 and H11 for MD/UD Hyundai Elantra

These (H1) work well as DRL in MD/UD Hyundai Elantra. However, you'll need to pick up a few patch cords to make it work. I bought them (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PMN7DN4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1). This is the only reason these lights didn't get 5 stars. Because they weren't plug and play for my particular application. I needed an adapter/plug to make a two-pronged connection into a single connection. as soon as you do They will work great. H11 are perfect for…

H1 bulb recommendations

I don't know about other types of brackets but the H1 bulb comes with a plastic ring around the element holder to keep it some distance from the headlamp housing. When I first installed these bulbs in my headlight, the radiation pattern wasn't very good. Not only did it not point in the right direction, it also didn't illuminate the road very far. After dragging it to a place where I could work on the machine in the dark. I was able to find that when I removed the plastic cap from the…

  • Good but not great

But great lights. - Headlight Bulbs

These are the "right" bulbs for my car, but the bulb cooler is too big for my headlight housing in the high beam position. I have similar bulbs but H11 in low beam position and they look nice and fit well. I give them a fair mark because it's not entirely the fault of the manufacturer or even the bulb. These are great bulbs for the price, but as a consumer, you should ensure your headlight housing is large enough to accommodate the size of the heatsink before purchasing. Unfortunately I…

The build quality is absolute rubbish

So I bought these particular bulbs because I heard most LED replacement bulbs were pretty bad but that Beamtech made a quality bulb. Ouch. My. God. Was it ever untrue These lamps are complete rubbish and I have no idea how they even got out of the design phase. H1 bulbs have a retaining collar (shaped like a circle with a flat spot and two protruding indentations) to hold the bulb in place and keep it in the correct orientation after installation. In a halogen lamp, this collar is actually a…
