Firstly I am a professional welder and use this machine for small jobs around the house. Bought for hobby use. I tried TIG first and it worked great with AC or DC, welded aluminum very well, I'm very happy with my purchase! Then I tried using it for stick welding and used it for about 30 minutes (not constantly) and turned it off as usual. The next time I use it, the machine turns on and sounds perfectly normal, but I can't strike an arc with a stick or tig. I checked my outlet, the ground wire, fiddled with the settings a million different ways, but nothing changed. The worst part? Although I've used it less than 5 hours since purchase, I've had it for over 1 year now and the warranty has expired. It costs almost as much as a car to send in for repairs. I'm so pissed! I'm not doing this sour grape review, just hoping it can help someone make their decision to buy a welder with more information. I even removed the lid to see if I got dusty or something broke inside and everything is absolutely fine. I don't have a lot of money to buy these things so I was hoping that if I take good care of them they would last me a few years. Took me 1 year 1 month and only about 5 hours of actual use.
