I started looking for desktop stands for my laptop for a reason to improve my ergonomics. My job consists of using a computer every day and I have had serious problems with neck strain when the laptop is on the table. Lifting the computer helped a lot with this. Now I'm looking straight ahead at the monitor and my neck is no longer tense. Since purchasing it, I've noticed an additional benefit: I now have room for a wireless PC keyboard. My varied tasks require the use of a PC as well as my MacBook Pro, and I've always had an issue with the extra PC keyboard taking up space on my desk. Now, when I'm not using a PC, the keyboard tucks neatly under the new laptop stand, and with the tabs in the up position, it fits perfectly over the stand legs. Now that the Mac is booted up, I got myself an Apple Bluetooth Keyboard. to keep on the table, but it's small and light enough to slide it aside so it doesn't make a mess on the table. Most of the clutter on my desk isn't the result of computer hardware anyway :) Other laptop racks I've researched didn't have enough height. The LPT5000's lowest setting is high enough for me and actually higher than the highest setting on most other tripods, plus it's adjustable. As a musician, I sometimes work with a small MIDI keyboard controller that partially fits under this stand, making it easier to use (since I work on music on a Mac) and reducing desk clutter. Other reviews mention that the design of the controller's bottom supports prevent certain devices from being placed under the stand. That may be true, but it depends on the application. Also, you can easily add rubber feet to the bottom of each component to raise it half an inch and it will fit better. what is in progress. Don't worry about the strength or quality of this stand, it's solid and reliable.
