I washed it the first time I used it. Well, I noticed that the smell of grease (pan fried chicken thighs) was still on the silicone. Three days later the smell is still there after working on it and I even wrapped it in baking soda for over 10 hours then soaked it in borax and let it sit for a few more hours…. Nothing. Still smells like heaven. Another downside is that I feel like it's not porous enough and it builds up too much moisture when frying, causing a lot of pops and splatters when the guard is lifted.
