This is a nice oiler. It is made of ceramic, quite large and offers enough space for 2 oil sticks. The lid is made from solid bamboo and has a silicone O-ring for a secure fit on the oiler. It also has a cut-out at the top for the included spreader knife. The oil can is completely white and has the lettering "Oil" printed on one side. Elsewhere there are no texts or logos. Butter dish has a rustic living style. Looks great for serving at the dining table. However, this is not very practical. It's a little awkward to use as you really have to reach in from the top and cut into a stick of butter. It would be more difficult if the oil were stored in the refrigerator. I almost want to turn the butter dish upside down so I can drip the butter onto the plate and cut it out. The butter dish is dishwasher safe and easy to clean. But not for the bamboo lid. I suppose you can hand wash it and dry immediately before the water gets in. Overall, I really like this dish with butter. It's strong and well made. It looks great on a countertop or dining table. However, it's not as convenient as it sounds because it's deep and you really have to reach for the oil. It's quite roomy and you can use it to store other things as well. A cute washcloth is also included as a bonus, which is nice.
