Bought to cool some essential parts, the packaging was in new unopened condition and overall looked professional. I'm not looking for anything extravagant in style so this fits the purpose. (Ordered Green) Given the properties of thermal mass and the comments of others who take the time to measure temperatures on NVME SSDs, I also expect the temperatures won't get as high as the alternative without a heatsink. Anything that extracts heat from components should be a good investment as long as it does the job, and it really does. The reason why this heatsink is recommended is that it suits personal aesthetics and the product consists of elements that can provide positive results for a custom computing project if you are looking for an increase in performance.
