Bad wiring and fixings

So when I got this on the front door there was a big hole in the box. I didn't put much stock in that as the block itself wasn't damaged. After unpacking and plugging in the flashlight, I found that one of the motors was not working. Seeing how I needed it to work and didn't want to wait for a return, I opened it up and found the motor not running had a bad connection to the ground wire. As soon as I pulled it out, the positive wire also came loose from the probe. After I soldered everything, the flashlight worked very well and seemed to have a lot of power. Today I put it on my F250 and got going. There was no wind and there was no oncoming traffic in my direction. As my truck accelerated to 60 mph, I heard a pop and the power cord for the light went taut. Looking in the rearview mirror, I saw the light in the air for three seconds before shattering into pieces after hitting the freeway. I really liked the light so it let me down and I'll probably buy another one. But I'm aware of the problems it has and I know that if I'm doing anything other than slow driving I'll have to remove it from the cab.
