That's a smart idea and I was glad to get it. The audio port on my 3.5 year old laptop is dead. I need a microphone input from the headset and an audio output to the headset only. The declared product properties must guarantee this. It is not. The auditory part is fine. I hear very clearly in each of the three headphones. However, it does NOT include the microphone in ANY of the three sets of headphones. I tried using a lightweight headphone/mic set and a cartridge without a mic for recording. I tried it with a mid-range gaming headset. Again, NO recording from the microphone. I even tried it with headphones. Each of my headsets are WIRED and connectable. They work on my Android phone. Worn in the past when the laptop audio jack was working. My "Settings" detects the external earphone and MIC in the microphone settings. But for some reason the small USB connector does NOT pass through the MIC input. I need this. If they can help me get this working I will update this review. Until then it's 1* and will probably come back.
