Review on Zojirushi 4-Liter Hybrid Water Boiler and Warmer: Efficient Stainless Dark Brown Appliance by Robert Hayes

A fun addition to our kitchen

We had another water heater for ten years, which helped us a lot. I used to be heavily tempted to buy Zojirushi but wasn't sure how often we would use it. In fact, we were pretty spoiled about always having water on hand to make hot drinks and had to refill it at least once a day in addition to sleeping, since we're both retired now, so we knew we needed water in a larger volume. I also wanted it to be big enough to fit one of my Zojirushi teapots under the spout. This size seemed perfect and so far has met and exceeded all of our expectations. First, it heats up surprisingly quickly if you set it to that. It also heats up as slowly as you like if you fill it up before bed and set the timer; and you can set it to thermal and let the vacuum insulation keep the water warm. The water level indicator is easy to read once you get the hang of it. We only had to fill it up once, except before bed, although we get hot drinks both day and night. The thermostat reading confirms that it has always maintained the selected water temperature. We love the tunes it plays, which can be changed to simple beeps or turned off, but as my husband says, it's a fun little touch and we enjoy hearing it. I think the only feature we didn't use is the self-clean cycle as it wasn't needed yet. My only complaint is that 185ºF, the best choice for some of my teas, isn't one of the temperature options; However, this can be achieved by chilling the water to 195°F by pouring it into my kettle from another vessel, so this isn't a huge problem. However, I've also found that if I keep the boiler at 175F, I can set it to 195F and select Quick Temp to get it to 185F amazingly quickly and then reset it to 175F. It's amazing how quickly it heats water. Thank you for reading my review. I hope you found this helpful.
