I bought this camera a few weeks ago with the intention of using it as my backup / 'oh-oh' camera that I might break and would kill me a lot. The quality is decent, depending on the street lighting it looks grainy. I did a little shoot recently when there was about a half foot of snow on the ground and a little cloud and there was still a noticeable amount of grain (at least for me, friends can't tell). As I said in the title, this is great for beginners. It offers a lot for the beginner photographer, all manual settings, the autofocus motor in the camera makes it great for lenses that don't have it built in. What it is, it's a great camera. I would recommend it as a backup or entry-level camera.
