This set is great for making lens beads (note the circle/grid markings). Another reviewer was disappointed that the markings had come off her clay. This side should not come into contact with clay. To use this properly, one must hold onto the side "flaps" and rock/roll the flat portion in a circular motion, using markers to maintain symmetry. (See YouTube for details). It can also be used as a rolling surface along with the roller by turning it upside down. This results in an elevated platform and only small pieces of clay are recommended. (Use a large work surface to make a large piece.) The roller is smooth and added another dimension to my toolbox. Stop talking. Overall a great set for the money! Note. My first order was missing a roll and it only took a day between the seller and Revain to get a replacement. Extra praise for the great service!
