We bought four and were a little hesitant to take the blinds out of the box. The case, mechanisms, and bead strings are all plastic. We installed them easily without damaging anything. They slide very easily but the string of beads has a square plug that gets caught in the string holder/guide...very annoying when trying to raise/lower the blinds. Plus they look fantastic. We bought her as part of a remodel/renovation project worth over $25,000. What is the first thing visitors say when they enter? These blinds cost less than $30. Understand. Please note: they do not darken the room. Rather more for privacy and protection of furniture etc. from direct sunlight.
