Review on NiteRider Lumina Micro 650 Front Bike Light and 🚴 Sabre 110 Rear Bike Light Combo Pack, in Black (7711) by Jeff Leu

I wasn't sure how much light I needed and how much I would ride in total darkness so I tried my luck with this pack and wasn't disappointed. For $60 I got this light and a really great tail light. Niterider is a brand you can trust so I was happy with that. 650 micro is an incredible amount of light! I ride about 2 miles on an easy bike path and another 5 miles on a dirt road in pitch black darkness and back. So about 14-16 miles round trip. On the street part I set the minimum settings so as not to blind the poor pedestrians whose eyes are full of eyes even on the minimum settings. Once on the trail I pick the brightest at 650 and that's a lot of light. I have a helmet mount but I prefer it on the handlebars. Setting it lower allows me to see shadows in terrain, allowing me to better maneuver around bumps, rocks, and debris. When mounted high on my helmet, not much. And you have to have your head pointed in a direction where, when it's on the steering wheel, you can look up freely to crane your neck or turn your head from side to side or watch the sunset without that your bright light disturbs the wild life, haha. If I rode a lot and did more technical rides I would probably buy another one and put it on my helmet. But to be honest, I'm also not a fan of looking like an idiot with a flashlight on his helmet. I'm still not thrilled about wearing a helmet, but I'm starting to accept how stupid I look in it. I also like that the runtime is 2 hours at 650 lumens. If you look at more powerful lamps, especially amplifiers, you'll find that while they're brighter, the runtime is much shorter. I'd rather have 2 hours at 650 than 1 hour at 1200. Also, my friend has a 1200 boost and compared to a dark backyard, the difference isn't that big. I'd rather buy another set like this for only $120 and have two 650s and an extra tail light. One on my handlebars and one on my helmet. There would be tons of light. As an added bonus, the lantern can be used all year round. I mean, this thing is insanely valuable, not just as a bike, but as a rechargeable flashlight. Anything with similar specs from Pelican, Fenix, Sure Fire, etc. will cost twice as much. If I was just driving down the street I wouldn't use this because it's too bright. That's more than enough for mountain biking in pitch black darkness. This is an incredibly small device. I'm shocked that technology has come this far! Unless you're a total snob and don't have too much time and money, you'll find this more than adequate for light to moderate mountain biking in pitch black times! Have fun!
