Installation was pretty easy. All the sensors in my '04 Tahoe didn't work. I determined that my stepper motors were faulty by removing the cluster and trying to move the needles by hand. They should rotate with little force applied and have a clicking sensation as they move. My needles were difficult to move. Replaced old engines with these. Voila! My sensors came alive. To install stepper motors, you need to know how to solder (a short YouTube video will help if you don't know how), have an electronics soldering iron, a soldering suction cup, and some solder. Solder kits are available at many auto parts stores. If your cluster is already broken, give it a try before you spend big bucks on repairs or a new cluster.
