I received this yesterday. It looks very well made and heavy, with noticeable cooling fins. It runs cooler than another Thunderbolt 3 SSD I've bought and returned. Never more than slightly warm in the hand. Formatted it for Mac and copied my Final Cut Pro library to it. This works very well. So good that I decided to measure the read/write speeds. In my Blackstone test program, it showed speeds of around 2350/1950 Gb/s, which compares very well to the speed of the internal SSD on my new Macbook Pro. And also 4-5 times faster than SATA drive in USB 3.0 port. That's a lot better than the listed 1800 Gb/s and about twice as fast as the drive's online review claims. They appear to have updated the drive to the latest specs. I'm so glad I bought another one this morning. For the price I paid for a 1TB drive ($145), this is a bargain! Now let's see how long it lasts. Edit: Works so well I bought a third disc. Almost as cheap as a much slower USB3 device and MUCH faster. They all formatted as APFS disks with variable size volumes. I have a volume designed for Catalina OS to try. It's as fast as the internal SSD. Very fast.
